Summer update all the way from Bungoma, Kenya

Hello everyone and greetings from Kenya!

I recently realized that all of the summer updates I was sending through our listserve where not arriving in your mailboxes. Therefore, I thought I would start updating the website more frequently and try emailing later.

Information for reciepts and taxes

Many of you have contributed financially to The Nafula Foundation, and we thank you greatly for that.
We've had several people ask us about us non-profit status and receipt information.
Currently, The Nafula Foundation has submitted all its paperwork to become a 501(c)3 organization in the U.S. We are in pending status right now.

Another summer 2008 volunteer added

Board member and highly motivated volunteer, Aaron Bucher, will be visiting Kenya this summer. He and Kathryn will be leaving June 10th for Bungoma, City to work on a clean water project. While Kathryn is freelancing in Uganda, Aaron will be researching a University of Minnesota Engineers Without Borders group, as they are constructing sanitation and water facilities in southern Uganda.

Nafula Foundation Goodbye Party

As many of you know, last Friday The Nafula Foundation held a fundraising/goodbye party to say farewell to Ben Swails and Kathryn Nelson before they left for Kenya. Well, it was a wonderful success. The Nafula Foundation raised $582.00 toward our summer initiatives, getting us that much closer to our goal of $2,000.

    Hello all!
    I am pleased to announce that another volunteer will traveling to Kenya to volunteer with The Nafula Foundation this summer.

    Ben Swails, 25, is an employee with The Boston Scientific Corporation and has experience planning and implementing micro-financing initiatives in developing nations. Ben is excited and ready to take-on all the challenges Kenya has to offer!
