New partnership with the GSSA

The Nafula Foundation is proud to announce a newly formed alliance between our organization and the University of Minnesota Global Studies Student Association (GSSA). The group, located on the West Bank of the University, has taken up The Nafula Foundation as their sponsored organization of the year.

The GSSA will be helping to better organize the efforts of The Nafula Foundation, raise money for current and future initiatives, aid in the application for 501c3 status, and provide logistical support for the 2010 summer trip to Kenya, among many other things.

The group meets every Monday to discuss the week’s progress and to plan future projects. Co-founder Kathryn Nelson will be present at the meetings to provide help associated with planning and implementing so many different proposals and plans.

In the last two years, the GSSA has raised over $40,000 for a Honduran orphanage and provided volunteers to work on-the-ground in the country.
